Text Box: 2010 Dues Dues for 2010 are now being accepted. Dues are only $15 per household. Monies collected from dues helps to support the operation of the Civic League to include plantings and lighting for the entranceway, printing of newsletters, meeting hospitality, and special projects like the new entranceway sign.

Birchwood/Malibu Park to be Remodeled

During the November meeting, Mike Parkman of the Virginia Beach Parks Department announced plans the city has for the remodeling of the Birchwood/Malibu Park.  The project will start in the next few months (once A&W Construction completes their project and moves out of the park).  Plans include a totally new playground

structure, a covered shelter, a sidewalk connecting the Harton Road entrance with the tennis court parking lot , and additional park benches.

Flag Donation

Christa and Bob King, family of the late Jerry Samuel Moxley, donated the American flag presented them at his funeral to the Birchwood Civic League.

The flag now flies proudly at the entranceway in remembrance of him and to all those who have served.

Now that our entranceway is lit at night, the flag is not retired at sundown.  Since flown full time, the flag does wear out after only a few months.  If you wish to donate a flag or sponsor the purchase of a flag, please contact any board member.
